Three different, delicious pinots from the same maker and same vintage, for the cumulative total of $50 on (significant) discount. Is there any other maker in Australia, or the world even, that could match this feat right now?
Aye Red! I think this trio would still be fair value at $20, $30 and $50 each respectively, whereas I paid $8, $16 and $26.
The real achievement for me here though would have to be the Windy Peak. Thanks to my dad I've experienced a few $10 pinots (his favourites are Tyrrell's Old Winery and Mr Frog) but nothing has really come close to the Windy. Trentham's ain't bad though, although it doesn't have the 2 bigger brothers to back it up in punch-ups like the Windy does.
Superb value Pinots. The only other winery i know that could match them in producing quality Pinot at such low prices is Hoddles Creek
