WOODLANDS CHARDONNAY 2008

 - Margaret River, WA
 - $15-$24
 - Screwcap
 - 13.%alc

Woodlands' only white wines are a reserve and standard release of chardonnay. Although volume was down significantly they claim 2008 was an excellent year for their whites. The standard Woodlands Chardonnay is made in a lightly oaked, fun, refreshing and fruit expressive style.

Peachy and pungent, the 2008 Woodlands Chardonnay reveals a fragrance of white stonefruits, melon, citrus and vanilla oak. Fruit forward and rather uncomplicated, its brassy palate delivers a similarly pungent, round and generous expression of oily nectarine and melon fruits with cheesy undertones and punchy grapefruit-like acids.

O Not the most elegant or stylish chardonnay around, Woodlands' 2008 is a bolder expression of a lightly oaked, fruit forward Margaret River chardonnay. Drink to 2012.
