We clearly share similar views on using outlets other than tasting notes and well worded wine news articles to bridge wine to a greater audience.

Cheers,
Chris PChris Plummerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01038102858732379506noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7547979981063230374.post-21550440369551082032011-12-06T23:47:40.113-08:002011-12-06T23:47:40.113-08:00Thanks everyone for all the positive feedback. You...Thanks everyone for all the positive feedback. You make-a my heart glow :)

I do apologise for the late reply. I attempted to get the previous week off work to spend time with my partner - but wasn't allowed - so I thought the next best thing would be to take a vacation from the internet/Australian Wine Journal. Strangely, I do feel somewhat rejuvenated....

Ed, Teddy and Sean,

I never would've figured people might like the original sketches better!
To me, they look a little crass, rough and rugged - highlighting my artistic inabilities, but if I've learnt anything from this modern era of entertainment, it's that cut, polish and better production DO NOT equal funnier, in any way, shape or form. Point noted guys.

Conclusively, if I do switch to quick sketches, I'll be saving myself a LOT of time.....

And Teddy,

Normally when I sketch a toon they're the next one to be drawn up on the computer, but I recall doing the Joseph one, then coming up with a few ideas I liked better, and before I knew it, it was lost in a pile of paper on my desk, not to be unearthed until this post. Looking at that toon now, it does look like it needs (sparkling red) colour to me....

Matthew,

Please, no need to apologise! Anything I publish on the net I feel is free game to be taken anyway and I'm astoundingly flattered (and surprised!) that someone would print off an Oz Wine Toon to pass onto someone else. Share the love I say! Many thanks!

Cheers,
Chris PChris Plummerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01038102858732379506noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7547979981063230374.post-43974175665498789762011-12-01T02:49:53.303-08:002011-12-01T02:49:53.303-08:00Chris, very much enjoyed this. I really look forward to them and must now admit to printing a copy of the "Caveman" cartoon and using it in a thank you card to the chef and the sommelier at Attica restaurant after a particularly satisfying evening out last year. My apologies for using the image without permission! Love the toons, but the original sketches have even more charm!

Nevertheless, congrats on hitting 50. One of my favourites is where Mrs Merlot is chiding Mr Cabernet for a fling he has had with that Shiraz floosie down in Australia. :-)Redhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17360328831125971369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7547979981063230374.post-40519272896827919462011-11-29T07:50:54.475-08:002011-11-29T07:50:54.475-08:00Chris,
